The worst kept secret in Formula 1: George has the seat! (According to Nico Rosberg…)

Since his retirement from racing in formula 1, Nico Rosberg has wasted no time in creating chaos and ruffling some feathers whilst doing his commentary for Sky F1 on race weekends, and he sure was at it again at yesterdays Dutch Grand Prix.

Silly season is well and truly in full swing now and Nico Rosberg is wasting no time when it comes to stirring-the-pot when it comes to George Russell and his imminent move to Mercedes, which is rumoured to be announced in a matter of days now…finally! Having already tested the waters once with his ex-team principal Toto Wolff about the future of Valtteri Bottas, Rosberg wasted no time in interrogating his former boss yet again over when the announcement of Lewis Hamilton’s 2022 team mate will be made.

Clearly not satisfied with being told that it was “50-50” that the decision on George would be revealed at the next race weekend in Monza, our favourite gossip girl Nico Rosberg went on to air one of the rumours that he heard whilst broadcasting over the weekend. “By the way, on George Russell, I’ve got a rumour” stated Rosberg. “A certain streaming service (definitely Netflix) was called into the office of Toto to film the signature. That’s the rumour that’s circulating in the paddock for George Russell”

With Netflix already confirming earlier on in the month that their hit docuseries ‘Drive to Survive’ which is currently filming the behind-the-scenes of this current race season would be released early next year, it would seem that George is only is a signature away from securing the seat alongside Lewis Hamilton.

As all eyes turn towards next weekend in what will be an exciting race in Monza and we wait yet again for this George announcement, I’m sure that there is one guy in the paddock that will bring us the news straight away - our favourite 2016 World-Champion gossip guru Nico Rosberg.
